These were from the 1920s. By the 1930s, Stalin and his Comintern had figured out that the best way to attack America was through the New York media and Hollywood. Sen. Joseph McCarthy exposed this attack a generation later in his HUAC hearings (in the Senate!), causing the Communists to burrow deep into the federal government. Evans' 'Blacklisted by History" (2017, Three Rivers Press) tells this story.
