What counter revolutionaries have in their favor is that the normal person wishes for order and a general low level of violence/aggression. Any authority who wishes to stop these unlawful and violent actions must emphasize this goal. I cringed when Abbott made his actions out to be against antisemitism rather than the willful disregard for basic rules on campus and freedom of movement. He really undercut his hand and gave ammo to the local DA to undermine cases made against the activists. You can see the escalation in real time. A weak authority like the Egyptian President of Columbia University gives a 2pm deadline to leave or be forced out. Then she doesn’t allow the police to go in. So that same day, the activists rush and occupy the admin buildings. Any weakness or divided leadership will be seized upon. That Pepperdine episode reminds me of that great ethnographic study of “Left Behind In Rosedale: Race Relations And The Collapse Of Community Institutions” by Scott Cummings who documented a city in which one side was causing mayhem and destruction but would not be stopped by authorities. You can find it on Internet Archives (https://archive.org/details/leftbehindinrose0000cumm). Do you have a book recommendation on Finland and Mannerheim? I liked “Frozen Hell” about the battles between Finland and USSR but have not read anything about the earlier civil war and unrest in Finland.
I think people are frustrated because the only reason there is any crackdown on these protests and riots is because they are anti-israel. If it were any other leftist cause it would be allowed to continue unabated. It’s more clear than ever before that every level of government in America is controlled by a foreign interest.
This article made me think of Elliot Ness and his Untouchables. If you want to stop organized criminals you need to attack the organization. The drawback is this requires a state solution. If you're just a regular person all you should be doing is living your life and keeping your community nice. Don't let the mob change who you are
“Never Doom Pill. Never Surrender your Right to a Normie Life.” This is good advice! I think we need high morale more than anything while leaders grow up in this milieu and know the current steps have not worked at all.
Are they going to subscribe ? Or are you stealing this article. You need to be completely shut down, while also still having 5 dollars withdrawn from your bank account, with more for every free “communist” subscriber you sent this too!
No, I'm telling them not to subscribe. I was just going to send the article to 3 friends but in light of your comment I am going to now share it with everyone I encounter, acquaintances, homeless people, women. After that i am going to use my EBT card (i don't have a bank account) to buy lobster and then apply for social security disability in addition to the unemployment payments i already receive. This sequence of events is entirely your fault
I think the most critical battle is for the “justice system”, which is currently under total leftoid hegemony. I’ve spent time behind enemy lines in metropolitan public criminal defense (in George Floyd country no less), and it’s much worse than most people understand.
Without getting some ourguys at the top of the criminal prosecution ladder, we really have no shot at actually punishing criminals. Many top prosecutors (including in MPLS) are ex-public defenders who entered the role with the express and unhidden goal of NOT prosecuting crime. So long as these people have the power to decide whether to prosecute their ideological friends and client demographics (they don’t prosecute them), it won’t really matter how many arrests are made. You acknowledge this when you point out that a parallel set of rules would be installed to actually deal with the current issues under current circumstances. I don’t see anyone with the will to do this out there now, but it could change I suppose. I have to hope at least.
Didnt know that about pepperdine, wish my grandma who grew up in Los Angeles at that time period was still around so i could ask her. I generally have liked every israeli person ive met, ive enjoyed my trips there for business, but it doesnt mean i want america involved in their conflicts. The corniness of right wing politicians now suddenly deciding to use police power against lame but otherwise insignificant college protestors is annoying, though i cant deny i enjoy seeing the soy riddled protestors being easily pushed around. Im feeling its the only crackdown on leftists we will get to see.
We desperately need to get rid of all the shuck and jive procedural protections in place that afford more rights to shitheads that make life unpleasant than to my mother who just wants to buy her groceries in peace. These impediments to policing are not part of our national heritage or anything like that; they are completely modern contrivances implemented largely by a single radical leftist Supreme Court in an era of unprecedented judicial activism. The experiment has failed, and it is time, not for a right wing revolution, but for a return to normal life.
Very good. The only outlying issue I see (and I dont know how to deal with). There is quite a lot of legitimacy the large national media can grant to any issue by flagrantly lying and there is no real way i see to hold them accountable for lying. The specific i can think of is Nguyễn Ngọc Loan who was nearly deported because all the news in the country ran the photograph of him with zero context, until jimmy carter stepped in. no one who lied about him faced any consequences. These people are not breaking any clear laws like the occupations of public spaces and roads. Further case would be Rittenhouse who is maligned to this day and most normies think he gunned down three blackmen at random, instead of shooting a multiple convicted pedophile and two felons.
Universities in the province of Ontario are preemptively warning activists that the law will be upheld regarding encampments, as they are considered trespassing when encamped. If they follow through, I will be shocked, but for Canadian Universities (Ontario no less) to take the right position is a whitepill.
I’d add that any mechanism for which you can remove funding or bankrupt the groups that fund these activists would make a huge difference. Dry out that well.

“The Bolsheviks were a unified and ruthless political party. “
Precisely the issue today.
If we could just nail Trump, prevent “ misinformation,” ban voter ID- we can say we are saving democracy.
That's the plan.
Great piece. Sharing it with my friends. Thank you!

To* I should also be shot dead for that typo
Very good article, MG.

I like your no-bullshit approach and the way you combine historical references with modern practicality.

If anyone is more interested in the Pepperdine situation, read this: https://pepperdine-graphic.com/a-historical-analysis-of-racial-tensions-within-the-pepperdine-community/. I thought my Mid-Late 2010s campus radicals were something new, pretty clear it was the same old script.

Great as always.

Brilliantly written.

Great article.
Excellent and much needed.
