I can't recall exactly who/when it was but I remember there was some big debate/controversy a few years back when someone disputed the point that the 9/11 hijackers were "cowardly." The point was "if you're intentionally martyring yourself in an attack that YOU KNOW will result in your own death, that actually seems kind of brave, regardless of whether or not said attack is good/evil/whatever." And nobody understood the point. There was just mass screeching that any positive-coded word CANNOT EVER be applied to a negative-coded person. Just so dumb.

See also: The insistence by modern-day "historians" that actually Robert E. Lee was a blundering idiot, a terrible general, a poor leader, etc.

All of his contemporaries and the next 100 years of historians believed the exact opposite, but hey, in the current year, a "bad guy" simply CANNOT possess any good qualities.

It's interesting to consider how broadly this applies, and perhaps it makes sense given the philosophies involved.

The left sees itself as a mass movement of democracy. As such, they like to paint their enemies as so hopelessly inept/incompetent that their victory is basically inevitable. The march of progress, etc. The good triumphs because the evil was so dumb, it was never possible for the evil to win.

The right sees itself as a movement of individual action and heroism. As such, they paint their enemies as worthy adversaries, whose defeat was far from certain, in fact, might have even been unexpected. The victory of the good was never inevitable, it was hard-won, via extensive effort, superior strategy, and the blessings of God.

Simple reaping of the bio-Leninist harvest is all. Large numbers of people are simply unable to make this kind of distinction unless you baby-step them through it, and after a generation of recruiting from the bottom, who's left to demo those baby steps?

I still have no idea why DeSantis is running for President. Governor is what he should stick with.

The reason Trump BECAME popular was when we gave his opinion about illegal immigrants and stuck to it. The entire establishment tried to condemn him as a racist but he was right. Voters appreciated that about him and it galvanized his support.

Once again the system is giving voters a clear reason to support Trump.

Nice cover for ‘Trump is a narcissistic idiot, one term failure’. Desantis is a dud. A Dukakis of the right. Trump remarks were reasonable? When have his remarks ever been reasonable, except as a pose, or to reflect attention back to himself. Kingfish makes me barf. Poor Melania. Signed: loyal Trump supporter.
