“Attacking Trump from the Right” is the linguistic angle that many well meaning people fall for. But who has done more for the Right than Donald J. Trump in the past hundred years? Reagan actually betrayed us with amnesty, outsourcing all our industry, no-fault divorce in CA as governor, and nominated Sandra Day O’Connor. How is undermining the guy (Trump) who actually delivers over and over again for us somehow protecting the Right side? It’s word play. It’s the Right’s version of “Antifa” who declare, “See we call ourselves ‘anti-fascist,’ so we must be the most Left and the purest. Anyone who attacks our views and methods is undermining the Left.” Just replace the words “fascist”with “leftists” and “Left”with “Right” and you have these charlatan commentators’ argument.

Too many want to return to controlled opposition. Too many want to play the outraged dissenter. Too many want to shake their fist at the clouds.

Trump was right; they got tired of winning however, there is no turning back

I am curious to hear if others are having these conversations in real life, or if this is a completely online phenomenon. My social circle is full of people who would have considered themselves fans of Tucker during his prime from 2017-2025. When the occasional Tucker clip or perspective is shared in a group chat or referenced irl these days, it is immediately met with derision about how much of a scumbag retard he is, and was probably sent partly tongue in cheek anyway.

Same for my friends and me. Before he got fired by Fox he was a hero and the only thing worth paying attention to on that channel.

Hate to have to use this phrase but seriously, what happened to him.

The Overton window shift that has occurred over the last ten years is astonishing. Many of the amazing headlines we see everyday would sound like a fantasy world back then.

I recently read A Patriot’s History of the United States to give me a comprehensive refresher of some US history before a deeper historical dive in other books and was astonished how slightly libtarded it reads now (e.g. the Civil Rights, Reagan, and Bush stuff). Especially in comparison to more recent books like Age of Entitlement that take a sledge hammer to the Civil Rights Movement, all the maladies of the 60s/70s still causing social ills today, and the very bad aspects Reagan’s domestic policy record.

We cannot let people open the door for, to use a throw back term, the Con Inc types. We are probably a couple elections from mostly cleaning house of these types. The more the party is reshaped in a positive direction the more they will fall in line with our side. We cannot ever go back. Some people really did get tired of winning.

Ended a friendship with a long-time friend the other day over this. He sent me a dumb anti-MAGA meme (he's Mr. Too Based For Trump) and I don't care about disagreement but I told him his politics are childish and fill in the blank (a proportionate reply).

Then he proceeded to say about the most heinous thing you can think of about Trump, not even an insult but the kind of thing a militant leftist would say to you to really get under your skin. It was a psychotic escalation and if you say something like that to me you are instantly demoted to lower life form. Honestly, felt great!

The people who hide behind “both sides suck” to bash Trump are just as bad

So true. It’s sad that this type of phenotype paired with those opinions get any sort of engagement. “Look at me I stand for literally nothing.” Stunning and brave.

Way back during the GW Bush administration Jonah Goldberg wrote a column in which he said (in essence) he was finished doing the performative litany of disapprovals of that president before he praised something he did like. Democrats/ liberals didn't have that compunction even when their representatives had as much to answer for, so why should Republicans/ conservatives? It was a valuable stand however he ended up as a commentator later.

Almost nobody who makes a bluster of taking a stand shows up when it's time to pay a social cost for doing so.

It's been nice with a deactivated account on twitter. I'm just sitting here trusting my plan and supporting President Trump.

"What people are often doing when they lie to your face or act unreasonably is trying to display control over you." Unrelated to politics, I've had this happen in (former) friendships and I learned this lesson the hard way. It's generally applicable!

Not entirely on topic, but a few episodes back CC noted the ability of leftist agitators to round up a couple million people for the "No Kings" protest, and however stupid the protest was in essence or how elderly and lame the participants that's not nothing and we should take serious note of that organizational mojo. So I wonder if the peaceful, disciplined Dover protests over the weekend are a noteworthy right-identified response. They used tactics of the left (black clothing, face covering), but without violence or outward intimidation other than the bad vibes some people felt, and seem to have been effective in stopping some small boat landings.

The left is activelit running a pro assassination platform. We cannot go back. In my county, which has gone for trump 3 times in a swing state, there are billboards with trump pointing to one side of his head with a palm tree on the other. That is big liberal money cheering for a murder. Anyone playing footsie with these animals deserves to be outcast.

The left had every opportunity to back off its most egregious positions and they only became more radical. I no longer have any patience for them and hope the have all power wrested from their grip as soon as possible.

The entire 2028 cycle is going to be fixated on if Vance is going to lean into Tucker and slopulism. Why even deal with all that when there are better options? Rubio/Pratt 2028.

Lane VDM's avatar

Vance is going to be our guy, friend. As much as I like Pratt, he has no experience politically. We need the people who are carrying the MAGA flame and that is embodied by Vance. I do hope Rubio is his VP running mate.

n8's avatar

Actually we don't know that.

clingingmars's avatar

Rubio does not want to run against Vance and will support Vance.

n8's avatar

Ppl are just saying this. Watch when Rubios runs lol.

clingingmars's avatar

I don’t buy it and Rubio is polling well below Vance in every poll
