This is a good take. While I don’t know anything about the actual situation, I am a parent in a similar denomination and can tell you from what I’ve seen firsthand (1) there are kids with autism spectrum issues or other mental health issues (esp girls) who are extremely susceptible to this identity crisis -- and (2) our churches and parents quietly try to hold the line and guide kids back to reality, but are opposed by public schools, all of the media, and even the kids’ own pediatricians. It’s possible the parents may really have been trying their best (esp if she was autistic, and maybe unable to live on her own). They failed when they didn’t get the guns- but who would ever expect a daughter to do this? Though I wonder if she’d been on hormones and that played a role. I am not so keen for this manifesto to released because I imagine it could contain rage about the help parents & pastors tried to give her to help her accept reality-- and this would simply inflame more attacks on christian churches/schools.
While it might not do much now, the manifesto should have been released in the aftermath as the Republican governor of Tennessee pushed for red flag laws. While you are correct that it wouldn't do much to deter libs, it would have helped to change the narrative and push back against that. There is also one family member of the deceased who does want the manifesto published publicly so it is not a unified front.
Not too long ago, I listened to a speech Tucker Carlson gave where he stated that our leaders don't care about us at all anymore. They used to. They used to love their town and its residents, Congresspeople used to love their constituents, their district and their country. No one loves anyone anymore. You can see it in the way we're governed, you can see it in the architecture, you can see it in the way businesses are run.
It's very strange. When I went to school back in the day, they made us take something called "Quest" that was going to build our self-esteem. "You don't need to blow out my candle to make yours burn brighter" was the quote on the cover, I think. Anyway, since that time, all these people have raised their self-esteem and really fallen in love with themselves, their desires and dreams. It seems to have consumed any love that could have been spent on friends, family, neighbors and those in need.
I would beg to differ. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Abraham Lincoln, Donald Trump... They love this country and they love her people. It's shameful I can name a bunch of people from the 1700s and only one from today, but that goes back to my comment. They don't love us anymore, they don't love this country. It's been done intentionally through the education system and the media. When you look around the globe at all the craziness and realize they hate us all and want us dead, then you realize what we're up against. God help us all.
Yeah this reminds me of the people clamoring about Hilary’s emails. The hypocrisy is the point and method. Libs make “unprincipled exceptions” all the time. Like the Canadian Parlament welcoming a Waffen-SS member despite the current prevailing political theology of Anti-Fascism in the West.
I do think there was anti-Christian motives as well in the manifesto. Any who’s seen the officer’s video where he neutralized the shooter saw that she was distracted shooting out the stain glass windows of the chapel that depicted saints and Jesus Christ.
Overall just repeating the saying of "Hypocrisy is a tribute that vice pays to virtue".
The one bright spot in this horrific tragedy was the police response. Watch the badge cam videos. They ran to the sound of gunfire. Gold Standard.

Politicians never loved us. They just don’t pretend to anymore

It probably encourages other crazies to do the same. The parents are right to keep it locked up.
