Is there anything that will stop this deluge from turning the US into a third world favela? How many innocent people have to die and suffer so that libs can virtue signal and gain welfare dependent voters?

I would be less miffed about open borders if even a small percentage of these women coming in were at all attractive. How many 4'9" 30 BMI Ewoks with 5 barefoot kids do we need in this country? The only SANE answer is ZERO

It's a joke. A fairly funny one, as it turns out.

This points to a key fact regarding immigration. As long as the money spigot remains flowing, they can be bussed anywhere and will stay or find a way to friends and family. If a blue state government doesn't have the resources, the federal government has an infinite amount for all practical purposes to send their way. None of these people are coming here for freedom, democracy, or whatever. They are coming for the gibs. Any attempt to make their life so miserable they turn around and go home will be met with civil rights lawsuits the second one of them dies in squalid conditions.

I get why they want half-measures, as the only truly effective counter would upend the entire political structure and result in more than a few politicians being arrested/killed. A governor Abbott/Desantis will not save us, but a Bukele type might.

I was hoping the Vineyard bit was about the gated community freaking out but I never considered this side of things.

I'm glad I subscribed. I would have nary a clue about how scummy DeSantis moves were.

That being said I'm in DFW. The past few years here have been telling when you go outside for more than half an hour.

Good piece. Almost nobody in the immigration debate talks about how charities and activists make illegal immigration possible. If states can’t deport illegals they should at least be cutting off the gibs.

Thanks for this; great piece. Trump (or any committed GOPer) can end open borders. But (legal) mass immigration importation will continue until NGOs / charities that are facilitating both are made liable (with any injured person, not just govt, able to sue) for economic and physical damages caused by "migrants" they bring into the country

Yeah. While superficially it seems kinda cool to hear Eric Adams or whoever say "We don't have the infrastructure to handle all these migrants!" it's pretty clear that what he means is "And that's why the feds should give me more money!" not "And that's why we need to secure the border and deport the illegals who are already here."

It was a stunt and i liked it. You are very charitable in your description of Martha Vineyard's response. Sure, they treated the illegals decently, but they got them the hell out of there ASAP. (They don't have the money! I'm just crying with laughter.) Leftists don't care about hypocrisy but independents do. Ron's campaign is flagging and the followup to this stunt is emblematic on why. Lots of public fighting. Little true progress. He could have started bussing serious numbers up to Massachusetts. Instead, he settled for the news cycle.

Amen. The Obamas could have housed ALL of them in their damned pool house.

But I think they can be more effective by renting or buying houses right next to the top 1000 dem and rino donors/supporters houses and housing them there. Drop them next door to Jake Sullivans house.

I didn't know about the special visas they could get because the sheriff certified it as a crime. They sure know how to work the endless loopholes.

But I strongly disagree that this isn't turning public opinion against the open border in liberal cities. They're now opening saying they don't want more. There are protests against the migration. THat would have gotten them cancelled 3 years ago.
