The real kicker is they did this and shortly after released a recruiting ad trying to get white men to enlist. Just how much can the army not get it?

John Moore's avatar

The army is doing this by design to kill whites.

One of my old friends has the ear of governor abbot. I’ll try to reconnect with her.

Shaun Duaghtry's avatar

Abbot is just another anti-White Israel first jew.

John Moore's avatar

Abbott is part of the problem. He has been aiding and abetting the massive invasion at the border of non-white military aged males.

And there are still young White men willing to die for an Army which says that killing unarmed White American citizens is acceptable if you're African. Poor fools.

And this is how you create an army that will have no problem shooting American citizens when the Posse Comitatus Act is repealed.

John Moore's avatar

This lawless regime will do what they want regardless of Posse Com.

America desperately needs—at all levels of government and civil society—to stop taking black grievances seriously

This is a humiliation ritual and it makes me angry.

Any whites in the military should get out pronto, and the rest never even think of joining. This Regime is an enemy of the foundational American people and culture, and deserves no support in any form. It's sure as Hell not worth killing or dying for.

Every patriotic American should AVOID service in the Empire's military.

The one thing you're missing here is that the executions were controversial even when they happened, and led to the Ansell-Crowder Dispute:

https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Military+Justice+in+Turmoil%3A+The+Ansell-Crowder+Controversy+of...-a0555410277

Crowder was the army JAG, temporarily working on the draft and not running the army's legal affairs. Ansell was the acting JAG in his place. The post commander in Texas executed thirteen soldiers immediately, in the middle of the night, upon conviction, and only reported the sentence to the War Department after it had been carried out. The executed soldiers had no opportunity to appeal or seek the review of their sentences.

Race aside, there were many Americans who thought that mass execution of citizen-soldiers in a republic without legal review or even notification to national authorities was dangerous behavior that looked like the way despotic countries treated conscript armies. There was a long, heated debate within the US Army and within the War Department about the fairness of military legal process, with some reforms as a result. This is not just a racial controversy. It's been known for a century in the military legal community, and debated as an example of pre-UCMJ military justice with minimal procedural safeguards.

Procedural quibbling is not a reason to overturn the convictions of some of the most heinous mutineers in American history. And we know that procedural quibbling is not why it's being done now, in 2023.

So why apologize for it with such a long comment?

Yeah, the norm in a case like this is to acknowledge the irregularities as “harmless error“ which did not impact the outcome.

I’m not sure how this BS newsletter of white fragility showed up in my feed, but it is remarkable to see just how much Conservatives desire to ignore the historical context of anything that does appeal to the sensibilities of white people. The Houston Riot of 1917 didn’t happen in a vacuum. The readers should buck the current trend to block all things Black & learn the truth about how Black soldiers & veterans were treated by their fellow Americans during WWI, especially in the South.

Conundrum Cluster's avatar

"Ignore the historical context" of uniformed US Army soldiers firing into random homes, you're a complete idiot and everyone is tired of dull people like you dragging society down

Lol'ed at "vaxxed"

Wow, that didn’t take long. Unprovoked killing is never justified. Consider that there are 3 sides to this story: law enforcement, the soldiers & the truth. Just like today, statements from a law enforcement entity created by & comprised of White Supremacists should never be considered the whole & complete truth when it comes to Black people. One should always look for the whole history surrounding any story even if it makes you uncomfortable.

Conundrum Cluster's avatar

I get it, you're really stupid and think you can explain away what the black soldiers did (killing innocent civilians, including children) if you start using meaningless platitudes you heard on TV. I doubt you feel uncomfortable about anything, activist types like you are shameless. That's why everyone should just stop listening to you.

This is the most wicked thing I have read to date!! Each and everyone needs to get a copy of Claude G Bowers book A Tragic Era the revolution after Lincoln and read what was really going on when Johnson and Grant came along it sure was not pretty and much like what this article talks about

This was a very incompetent idea, with little actual thinking, but criticizing it as an anti-American tyrannical act ignores the deep history of racism in this country. This was an act done by incompetent officials who don’t understand that just doing stuff like this doesn’t do anything. But to ignore the (stupid) idea behind the conviction reversal is to ignore the history of racism and its effect on this country. Doesn’t mean it should be healed in this way.
