A fantastic article as always. I really appreciate the specific point of the 2A crowd going absolutely bananas over not getting absolutely everything they wanted when the final BBB text still deals the first meaningful blow to the NFA since it was first passed in 1934. People I follow in the 3D printing 2A community were acting as if Trump was some sort of great betrayer, completely forgetting DNI Gabbard declassified a Biden-era memo declaring their intentions to chip away the 2A and terrorize the people exercising it, and it most certainly would've continued if Trump didn't win. There's plenty of things that aren't perfect about the current state of things, but now more than ever, people need to grit their teeth and push forward to the other side instead of declaring defeat and metaphorically crawling back into the womb, waiting for a totally preventable and ignominious death to come.
I live in a deep blue state in the Northeast. Many people I know, including family members, wish to move to a more 'free' state, but I'm choosing to plant my roots and stay for as long as I'm able, because someone has to stay behind and clean it all up. I don't want to give up my home to leftist insanity. I want to, and have to believe, that material conditions for my home can improve so that young men and women can achieve their dreams, live happily and in safety, even if those days only come to pass for descendants of mine, and the only way a future like that can unfold is supporting and having faith in my leader, DONALD J. TRUMP.
Thank you for compiling this list of great accomplishments from this big beautiful administration. With the constant inflation and business uncertainty (thanks Joe Biden), I really needed a reminder of what our dear President has truly accomplished. It’s incredible how little of the good stuff has been mentioned by the mass media, but I should have figured. I still remember calling my representatives in early 2010’s telling them we need tanks on the border. God bless Donald J. Trump for making it happen!
I wasn’t expecting the tangent about tattoos, porn and weed but I am really hoping that something can be done about this as well. There needs to be a series of PSAs produced that show young people that it’s cringe to permanently draw on your body and smoke weed in public. It should cost a minimum of $10,000 to set up an onlyfans account. These are all things that targeted legislation could accomplish very easily if we meme it into reality and would make American public life 10x better for everyone.
I don’t know if you explicitly wrote this in some capacity but my main takeaway from this article is that the first step to doing anything is to believe you can do it. If you can’t even do that, then you have no place in politics or nontrivial problem solving. Everyone would be better off not knowing you even exist.
One thing I think that Americans have lost over the last half century is the ability to use shame and ostracism to discourage bad behavior and encourage good ones. Hopefully we can relearn how to use this power to solve a lot of these problems we currently face.
Ditched Twitter/X. It went from "The Everything App" to the "All Epstein All The Time" site. I get why people are upset about this issue, but good lord pull yourselves together people. The ONLY issue that matters is whether or not America will continue its slide into becoming a shithole.
"As this essay draws to a close (I really hope you’ve been listening to it on the Substack App’s text-to-speech feature), I’m reminded of this Trump tweet."
It’s always fun to listen to the Substack default audio for these written pieces, as it presents a San Francisco woman’s voice sweetly telling me how we’re sending the Marines in to expertly nab the illegals working on pot farms.
“Some come to incorrectly believe that bad things don’t happen only because they panic.”
You said this in your June 23rd article and it comes to mind anytime I see people “chimping” on the right. It’s valid to give good faith criticisms from Trump on the right, but I’m afraid that “chimping” will just train people to freak out anytime Trump does something less than ideal (which gives opportunity for the left to attack) and think that their negative emotions actually have a positive effect on political outcomes (which is untrue and unhelpful.)
Great article and I’m enjoying going through your old podcasts and articles.
Yes, it’s 100% valid to chide Trump when he starts talking about “maybe some of the farm workers can stay” or whatever, but the “chimping” has to be from INSIDE the tent. It has to be a gentle reminder from the base “we’re here, and we’re holding you to your promises”, not a shit-flinging temper tantrum from outside the tent
A small, small point, but thank you thank you THANK YOU for being the one conservative discussing this not to resort to pretending it was children.
Almost of-age teenage girls? Still minors! Still not great. But a world of difference -- a WORLD of difference -- from having sex with a five-year-old.
Using language accurately is the best way to broker trust. Resorting to pearl-clutching hysterics is the quickest way to get me to ignore you.
I get hate, but I’ve been consistently making the “pedophile vs EPHEBOPHILE” distinction in like every thread I see it come up. Like a retarded autistic libertarian :P
Because it really does matter if the girls on that island were of the age of consent in more than half of US states (16), whether they were kidnapped from their beds and raped at gunpoint vs being typical away teen prostitutes, etc
People have been infected by the pizzagate/bohemian grove brainworm into thinking Epstein & Co. were raping toddlers to death for their adrenochrome in a Satanic sacrifice.
A lot of right wingers have the political equivalent of battered woman syndrome where they’re so used to liberals winning after decades of losing ground they can’t even cope with the fact that the situation is reversed, probably for the first time in their entire life if they’re Gen X or younger. I think the zoomer right, who grew up in a world when winning was not an unthinkable prospect thanks to 2016, will ultimately have the strongest conviction in the long run.
Thank you for writing this. I wish I could get all of my friends and family to read this instead of bitching about isreal or continuing to be tricked by liberal media (fox news).
As always, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and ability to deliver your thoughts
It's been said plenty but it's really crazy to me how people never learn. The guntube guy making an assertion about a false flag that never happens doesn't reflect on that. It's easy to fall into these traps and I dont necessarily blame him but after so much of it obviously being wrong and not happening when is it time to look at yourself and say maybe I need to dial it all back and try to view the world in a different way because freaking out constantly is taking a toll on me and my life
I work in Houston proper in areas from lower middle class to occasional rich. Usually the neighborhoods are filled to the brim with haphazardly parked beat up trucks with trailers doing landscaping, blaring their shitty music and blocking everything. Probably 75% of them are gone and I've seen people doing their own yard work, and in one case a nerdy black teen using a push mower for some extra cash. Just amazing how fast everything shifted.
Excellent article. I could remark on it point for point but it’s easier to say I agree with everything you’ve said. I really hope someone from the Trump administration reads it. So many issues I thought Trump would not address have already been dealt with.
ctlr+f "pedro" "Wrangel" "Russian Civil War"
o yea another certified MG classic

I don't like to point fingers but "someone" spilled their Banana Split Dip n Dots all over the top of the paywall

I know its unpopular but when I realize a woman has tattoos I lose all interest. They are ugly and I think it says a lot about a person to want one

I just muted "Epstein"
Its annoying bc there isn't really a good replacement app. Unfortunately, every day it becomes less usable

Proceeds to not say what the Tweet says.

That's just Mystery Grove's real voice

Good night we're going to win.
Ok but Trump didnt address my specific grievance in the exact way I wanted him to so Im gonna start screaming and crying
