Great post. Always wanted to look more into the Russian Revolution but never had the time to really delve into a book about it. This is definitely going to motivate me to read McMeekin's book that's been on my shelf for a while. Although the whole thing was well written, my favorite part was probably the small annotation about Dukhonin, a guy who got his job out of nepotism having a final act of such courage and heroism really struck a nerve with me.
i appreciate this posts aswell. lots of stuff I didnt know. Also shows how it took the commies multiple tries and approaches and not one coup and civil war and also tons of failures from the right and the rest of the other parties.
A great read for an area of history most have little knowledge of at best. Especially the Junkers attempt at dealing with the chaos
"They would lie about everything, all the time." Sounds familiar.

Thanks for the post - I have nothing insightful to add but I hope you do more of these.
Everybody needs to read @EricRWeinstein July 18 post on X. Today. MG may very well have changed the course of history.
